I discovered my love of writing during lockdown...
Snap - A book of lessons I learned so that you and your children don't have to.
Written in a mother's voice, Snap is a gift to my son, in the hope that the lessons I learned the hard way, will help him, and anybody who chooses to read it, to live a peaceful and fulfilled life.
This book is intended as a guide to support him through milestones as well as any challenges he may face and, whilst the words are dedicated to Sebastian, I am told this makes the book unique in its approach and one that young adults and parents alike take tips and tools for their own application.
Along the way, I share with you moments in my journey that have shaped me into the person I am.
Sender Feels Better
Aimed at 4 - 7 year olds, the ‘Sender Feels Better’ series is available on Amazon.
During lockdown, my little boy (then 5) started displaying signs of anxiety. I tried to support him where I could but felt that, with the help of his imaginary friend Sender, I could go further.
I started writing and couldn't stop - soon, a series of 4 children’s books was born. I was not a writer, nor an illustrator, but a loving mum and I have always enjoyed creating pictures using language.
The inception of this series kick-started by a passion for writing.
Based around a group of friends, the books are aimed at children’s curious imaginations, each story touching upon different, potentially new emotions – from boredom to anger, over-competitiveness to loneliness.
The stories are intended to be layered, engaging character journeys, each with an underlying message of positive mental health – I have even been told they are helping parents too!
Extract from SNAP...
"Sadly, the first thing to go missing was joy. As time passed, I laughed less and less. I forgot what I enjoyed. If I ever slowed down for long enough to wonder 'what do I love?' I would have absolutely no clue what the answer was..."
Extract from SENDER FEELS BETTER...
"Sender wants to share his idea
That if other people shout
It may not actually be their actions
That the anger is about"
